Pickerill's Sport Shop opened in 1953 at 2112 Edgewater Drive between Princeton and Harvard streets in Orlando. In those early days it offered mainly toys, fishing equipment and boating accessories. When the store was opened Edgewater Drive was a red brick street. Paul Pickerill, Sr. was quoted in the “Corner Cupboard” (4/6/78) as saying, “Everyone thought I was crazy to build so far from town."

April 22. the CPNA Historical Committee will host an Oral History Night at Infusion Tea 1600 Edgewater Drive, 7 PM. Robert Pickerill, son of founder will share his memories of the store and the early days in College Park.

Joan us at Infusion Tea, have a cup of tea, a sandwich and join the informal conversation about the history of College Park. For information - historical@collegeparkorlando.org
