July History Meeting at the Fire Museum

The July meeting of the History Committee of the College Park Neighborhood Association will be Monday July 24, at the Randall R. Tuten Orlando Fire Museum in Loch Haven Park at 7 PM.

The fire museum is the historic Orlando College Park Station #3. The station was originally located on the westside of Interstate 4 on Dade St. from 1926 to 1978. It was moved in two sections to Lock Haven Park.

There will be a short update from the committee followed by a tour of the station and the historic apparatus on display. The host will be OFD historian Dick Camintz. Dick was raised in College Park and son of a former fire chief.

Residents of College Park are invited to join the committee touring this historic site. The station is behind the Shakespeare Center. The museum is usually only open on Friday and Saturday but special arrangements have been made for College Park to enjoy this summer evening event at the museum.
