Relay For Life is the nationwide signature event for the American Cancer Society. Relay is a community, volunteer driven, team event to fight cancer.

This year’s College Park Relay for Life event begins at 6:00 pm on April 11th and ends April 12th at noon. It is an 18 hour overnight event that takes place at St. Charles Borromeo track and field Edgewater Drive.

Businesses, churches, clubs, friends and families form teams of 10-15 people. Registration is $100 per team; each team member is asked to raise donation money ($100 minimum). Teams can also provide entertainment or games for the evening.

This year’s theme is Take a Holiday from Cancer. Each team will choose a holiday to represent through costumes and decoration of their camp site.

Opening ceremonies (Survivors Lap and Luminaria Ceremony) are at 6:00 pm, then a member of each team will take turns walking on the track at all times until closing ceremonies. Members off the track will enjoy music, games, food and interaction with other teams.

College Park is our community! We must make every effort to have a successful event. Please join in this fun and worthwhile event – for the cancer survivors you know, and the special people who aren’t here anymore- Make the commitment NOW! PLEASE!
